Youth Music Program

The Lions Youth Jazz Band provides an opportunity for young people aged 8 to 18 to learn how to play a musical instrument and perform jazz. The Band performs several times a year at festivals, dances, competitions and other community events.

Tuition is by talented jazz musician and educator Phil Hatton, who performs regularly in jazz bands in Perth. Phil has a Master’s degree in Music Education and has been teaching jazz to young people for more than 25 years, both in Australia and in the USA. The Youth Music Program is very successful, with some 30 students enrolled currently.  Our special thanks go to Phil for his incredible skill and commitment.
